Now in Stock: Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Super Gordo (Review)

Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Filler: Nicaraguan
Binder: Ecuadorian

Well after we had a few requests we brought in the Jaime Garcia line. And we specifically had some requests for this particular size. There aren't many 66 ring gauge cigars out on the market, so this one sits in a niche all its own.

Appearance:
This cigar is massive. It measures just shy of 6 inches, but the 66 ring gauge is thick. Being a torpedo, its a easy to smoke. The wrapper leaf is very dark, almost black in color. There are very few veins running throughout the wrapper. The cap, being torpedo, is wrapped very smooth.  The cigar itself smells very sweet.

Construction:
This cigar was perfectly uniform throughout. There were no soft spots at all. Being so thick, we were afraid of possible construction issues. But there were none. The burn was even throughout and the draw was flawless through the small opening. The cigar never burned hot and produced a nice amount of smoke.

Flavor:
This cigar has a ton of flavor right from the time it is lit up. There is a nice spice right away with a bit of earth and wood accents. Some coffee notes form as this large cigar slowly progresses. About an inch into this cigar, the smoke started to have a nice sweetness to it.

Towards the halfway point the flavor profile changed and let the previous background flavors come towards the from. Much more earthy tones. The pepper and sweet notes mellowed out more to an accent. The cigar became much smoother.

The last bit of this cigar was very complex. All of the flavors from the previous 2/3s were there. Naturally the earth was prominent but the spice picked up and was the main accent flavor. The sweetness was left more on the draw.

Overall:
For all of you big ring gauge cigar lovers, be sure to try this one. The price point is great and the flavor of this cigar is even better. We just got the box in a week ago, and they're moving fast..

Thank you,

The Xhale Lounge Crew
