Now in Stock: CAO Lx2 Bam (Review)

Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan and Dominican
Binder: Honduran

As we start to expand our humidor, we are aiming for a few things. We want to bring in new cigars, obviously, but we also want to focus on price ranges and strengths of the cigars. So what we did in the humidor at Xhale Lounge was bring in a few cigar that are known as "Bargain Sticks." We chose to review this one first because it is a smaller, quick cigar with a sub $5 price point.

Appearance:

This cigar is only 4 inches long and has a thin 45 ring gauge. Also it is box pressed. The cap on this cigar is made up of two separate layers that both lie perfectly flush with the wrapper. The wrapper is a medium shade of brown that was smooth to the touch and very oily. There were also no thick veins running throughout the leaf of this petite cigar.

Consturction:

The cigar is surprisingly very solid throughout. Usually box pressed cigars are slightly soft, but not this one. This cigar also had a great burn all the way through. The draw was very easy and produced a thick smoke with a spicy aroma.

Flavor:

As soon as we lit this cigar up, we knew where it got its name from. The peppery spice was literally a "Bam" in the mouth. There was also a strong earthiness and woodiness in the background of the flavor profile. As this cigar progressed, there was a slight bitter flavor that came out that resembled espresso.

Around the halfway point of this cigar the spice picked up with every puff. There was still the strong woodiness and earthiness, but the punch from the spice was very strong. As this cigar came to a close, it evened out a bit. There was still a lot of power to this cigar.

Overall:

If you are looking for a quick half-hour smoke time, this cigar fits the bill. But be warned, it is a strong cigar. If you are a fan of stronger cigars, don't steer away from this bargain cigar.

Thank You,

The Xhale Lounge Crew
