Filler: Nicaraguan Criollo '98 and Corojo '96
Binder:Nicaraguan Habano or Corojo
This week is the start of bringing in a bunch of new cigars. We just brought in a few lines from Miami Cigar Company. We now stick Don Lino, Art Deco, and these beauties, the La Sirena. We brought in three vitolas of the La Sirena, the Divine (belicoso), the Price (robusto), and the King Poseidon, which is the one we chose to review for you.
Appearance:
The thing that immediately draws us into this cigar is the incredibly detailed band. The maduro wrapper on this cigar is dark brown and oily. It is smooth to the touch with only a couple veins. The cap is made up of three flush layers. This cigar also emits a very sweet smell.
Construction:
This cigar is perfectly packed from cap to foot. There is not a single soft spot throughout this cigar. The cut was perfectly clean and was very easy to light. The burn was even all the way through. The draw was very easy in this cigar, which is the case with most 6 x 60 cigars. The draw produced a thick smoke that gave off a very earthy aroma.
Flavor:
Once this cigar was lit, we got a nice mouthful of spice and sweet notes. Even though the spice was strong, it was still very smooth. There was a nice woodiness and earthiness that formed after the first few puffs. By an inch into this cigar, the sweet and spicy notes dull out and allow the woodiness to pick up. Also, some smooth leather notes form.
The last couple inches had some fantastic pepper and coffee notes become prominent. The woodiness was a great background flavor and there was a ton of flavor on the finish. The end was nicely balanced with all the flavors present.
Overall:
This cigar has everything. It has strength, flavor, and a great price point. And if you are one of those people that collect bands, this is one that we are sure you will fall in love with. Come on in and grab one to try, we don't know how long these will last, but we do know it won't be long.
Thank you,
The Xhale Lounge Crew
