Filler: Nicaraguan and Dominican
Binder: Dominican Corojo ’98 and a Nicaraguan Habano ’00
This cigar is distributed through Miami Cigar Company, the same company responsible for the La Sirena that we reviewed last week. We have had several requests for this cigar, so we finally brought it in.
Appearance:
This cigar looks absolutely flawless. The corojo wrapper looks almost like a milk chocolate bar. There is also a nice smooth earthy aroma to the cigar. The cap lies perfectly flush with the rest of the cigar. Also, there are no thick veins throughout the wrapper leaf. There are a few thin ones, but nothing to worry about.
Construction:
The cigar is perfectly uniform and solid throughout from cap to foot. The ash on this cigar was almost white with a little bit of darkness marbled into it. The burn was razor straight for the most part, and the draw was very easy. The smoke produced from the draw was very thick and gives off a nice spicy aroma.
Flavor:
As soon as we lit this cigar up, we were hit with a nice spice, as well as a nice creaminess. As this cigar slowly progressed we started getting some earthy tones as well as a little bi of leather. After about an inch of this cigar the leather subsides a bit and leaves a nice combination of pepper and earth.
Around the halfway point of this cigar, the flavors all started to smooth out. The pepper, earth, and now a slight coffee flavor all started to meld together. Once we entered the last third, the flavors started to open up again. Some new spiciness and woodiness came out. The finish was full of earthiness and pepper.
This medium bodies cigar is fantastic. The flavors all work well together. The transitions are pretty smooth and there are some definite hidden notes to this cigar. This is one that is a pleasure to smoke. We only got a couple boxes of these in at this time, so hurry in and grab one before they're gone.
Thank you for the support,
The Xhale Lounge Crew
