Now in Stock: Tortuga 215 Limited Edition 2011

Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Filler: Honduran
Binder: Nicaraguan and Honduran

As you may recall, in the past week we have reviewed the other two lines by Tortuga. We felt it was only right to review all of their lines. And we wanted to finish up with the Limited Edition 2011.

Appearance:

The Nicaraguan wrapper on this cigar is a medium shade of brown. There were a couple thin veins that ran through the leaf, but nothing out of the ordinary. We could tell by looking at the foot of this cigar that the filler was tightly rolled. The cap on this cigar was made up of two perfectly flush layers. The cigar itself gave off a very sweet smell.

Construction:

These cigars are perfectly uniform and solid from cap to foot. The cigar had a very nice even burn. The draw was surprisingly easy given how tight the cigar was packed. A very thick gray smoke was produced and it gave off a very earthy aroma.

Flavor:

Once these cigars were lit up, we all got a nice peppery spice. There were some strong earth tones that made up a solid background to the flavor profile. The combination of earth and spice quickly coat our palates. After about an inch some coffee tones come out. Throughout the remainder of the first half the flavors remained fairly consistent, which in this case, wasn't a bad thing.

As we moved through the halfway point, the coffee and wood tones picked up a bit. There was still a nice peppery spice on the draw. From about the start of the last third the flavor profile balanced out. The finish was full of wood and spice tones.

Overall:

This cigar isn't overly complex, but the flavors present are great. This cigar completely impressed us. We highly recommend stopping in and trying the new Tortuga Cigars.

Thank You,

The Xhale Lounge Crew
