Cigar of the Week: Arturo Fuente Magnum R 52 (Review)

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sungrown Sumatra
Filler: Dominican Republic
Burn: Dominican Republic

This week we chose to feature one of our favorite cigars. Many people are familiar with Arturo Fuente because of the cigars they put out, but we wanted to feature this cigar to help expand the knowledge about this cigar. So here is our review of the Magnum R 52.

Appearance:
This cigar looks absolutely flawless. The medium brown wrapper has a slight red hint to it. The cigar is box pressed with rounded edges. There are no thick veins that run through this cigar at all. Upon the last look over we noticed a very distinct sweet smell coming from it.

Construction:
This cigar was solid all the way from cap to foot. There was not one spot in this cigar that was slightly softer than the rest. The cap was composed of multiple layers that all laid perfectly flush. The burn throughout the duration of this cigar was even. Te draw was very easy and produced a very thick white smoke.

Flavor:
As soon as we lit these cigars up we picked up on several notes. There was a very strong earthiness with some slight cinnamon notes. As this cigar slowly progressed, the flavors became very creamy and leathery. Once we got through the first inch, the cinnamon notes seemed to pick up and compete with the earthiness.

Around the start of the second third the flavor profile really balances out. There was a very strong earthiness still, but the creaminess was at its strongest. As we got close to the halfway point, the cinnamon notes smoothed out and became more of an accent.

The last third was where all of the flavors came out and shined. There were some woody tones that came out and worked perfectly with the earthiness. The cigar stayed very flavorful throughout the finish of this cigar. All of the flavors seemed to work together.

Overall:
This is one of those cigar that everyone needs to try. Its medium bodied and full of flavor. There is something for everyone with this cigar. We can keep these on the shelf for long, so hurry in and grab a couple while we have some left. And remember, if you grab 4, you get 1 free.

Thank you,

The Xhale Lounge Crew
