Cigar of the Week! The Punch Rare Corojo (Review)

Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Filler: A blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran tobacco
Binder: Ecuadorian

We at Xhale Lounge are proud to announce a new series for out blog. Every week we are going to feature a "Cigar of the Week" which you can pick up at our shop. Along with the announcement of the cigar on this blog, we will also be conducting a review of the cigar so you know exactly what you are getting. Here is our review of the Punch Rare Corojo!

The particular size we chose to smoke was the El Doble, but we also carry the Magnum. The Magnum is slightly smaller than this particular cigar.

Appearance:
This 6" x 60 cigar looks absolutely amazing. The box press is perfect. If you look at this cigar from the foot, you will see that it is perfectly square with slightly rounded edges. The wrapper is a medium to dark shade of brown and is very smooth and oily. If you look at the cap, you can see that it is made up of multiple layers that all lay perfectly flush with the wrapper. Once I took this cigar out of it's cellophane, it gave off a very strong, sweet smell.

Construction:
This cigar solid all the through. The foot is slightly softer than the rest of the cigar, which makes it very easy to light. As this cigar burned, a small wave in the burn pattern formed, but it corrected itself momentarily. The waviness in the burn pattern was due to the thickness of the wrapper leaf. Because of the thick ring gauge, the draw was absolutely flawless. For those of you that like a cigar that produces a great about of smoke, you wont be disappointed with this cigar. The clouds of smoke were every thick, and almost pure white.

Flavor:
This cigar combined some amazing flavor as it burned. When I first lit this cigar, I was hit with a mouthful of spice. But, as the cigar progressed, the spice mellowed out and that gives way to some very nice earth and wood notes. By the time I got about an inch into this cigar, the smoke gave off a very creamy flavor mixed with little notes of peppery spice.

As I moved into the second third, the spiciness picked right back up. But even still, the earthiness and woodiness remained, and were actually picking up strength. By about the halfway mark, there were a couple very interesting flavors that came out. I started to pick up little notes of toast and roasted nuts.

As I rounded out this cigar, the flavors just popped. The spice was still pretty strong, but is was more of an accent to the earth and wood notes. Overall the finish was great, full of flavor, and definitely not disappointing by any means.

Overall:
If you get a chance to stop into our shop, please pick one of these up. We are sure that if you like full flavored and full bodied cigars, you will love this one. We only have two boxes left, so hurry up and grab some while our limited supplies last. And for $7.50, you really cant go wrong.

Thank you for reading,

The Xhale Lounge Crew
